Habitat for Humanity
We proudly partner with Habitat for Humanity to support their mission of building safe, affordable housing for families in need. Through hands-on volunteer work, our team contributes to homebuilding projects alongside dedicated volunteers and future homeowners, helping bring these life-changing spaces to reality. Supporting Habitat for Humanity allows us to be part of something bigger: creating opportunities for families to build brighter futures.
Hands on Jackson
We proudly take part in Hands On Jackson, an annual day of service that brings the community together to make a meaningful impact. Each year, volunteer teams from local businesses, organizations, and community groups come together to complete projects that support residents and improve neighborhoods. By contributing our time and effort, we help tackle a wide range of needs, from home repairs to outdoor cleanups, working alongside others who share a commitment to giving back.
Annual SCC Scholarship for the HVAC Certificate Program and Equipment Donation
We proudly support the next generation of skilled trades professionals through our annual HVAC scholarship at Southwestern Community College. Each year, we award a $750.00 scholarship to a student pursuing a career in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration. Helping reduce financial barriers and open doors to opportunity.
SCC’s Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology program equips students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to work on residential and light commercial systems, covering everything from heating and cooling theory to electrical systems, controls, and safety. Graduates are prepared to assist with installation, maintenance, and service, with advanced students gaining deeper expertise in system design and performance. By providing industry-standard equipment, Ward PH&A is helping students gain real-world experience and build a strong foundation for successful careers in HVAC.

Steve was assigned to us, and down to reset our breaker after a power outage. Thankfully our motherboard didn’t pop but Steve pitched us the power surge unit to prevent a motherboard burn out if another power surge should occur. Which does frequently occur in our rural area.
This investment cost $791 but per the replacement of a motherboard, seems to be a good preventative option for our somewhat new A/C unit. He was well spoken, easy to understand, and applied the work within a reasonable window of time. All is working smoothly and well!
Only complaint was the length of waiting but I fear that is a high demand of services and not the direct fault of anyone within the company. We waited three days in 80 degree weather for a reset and had a bed ridden person with very sensitive medical condition that could not tolerate heat well. Otherwise, the company is rather wonderful and a saving grace for many of us Rural folk! Thanks Ward! Thanks Steve!

Will and Red installed a sediment filtration system for us. The install required them to work under the house in crawl space. They piped it inside the house and placed the filter in the utility room to allow for easy filter replacement. Awesome job guys!!

Brad and Sam did a good job in checking out our water heater and replacing the water pressure reducing valve. They were courteous and respectful. We appreciate the work they performed. The valve was only a year old, but cost about $200 more than a year ago. Seems like a big jump in cost.

My project was a complicated and difficult endeavor. I own a historic building in downtown Sylva and have trusted Ward with the maintenance and upkeep of both my commercial and residential properties through their Ward Guard program for years.
So, when it came time to replace two commercial air units on top of my historic building, I naturally turned to Ward. They have proven leadership under Brad W. that I trust to do the job right and stand behind their work.
Comfort Specialist Jeremy C. worked with me to select the best possible units for my building and made me feel confident in my choices by being well informed and very knowledgeable in his field.
Nicki was the project coordinator and assisted in securing the financing I wanted to provide the best economic solution for an expensive install. Every step of the way she provided quick responses and ever quicker solutions to any obstacles in planning the project. She was able to work seamlessly with my carpenter, Robin S. of Birdseye Handyman, to ensure a complicated install would be successful.
Ward coordinated with NC DOT, Town of Sylva, Sylva Fire Department, and contractors for crane services to accomplish the removal of the two old units, demo of the old platform, building of a new platform, and placement of the new units. We only needed to close the road for the crane for one hour...that is how well planned and professional this project was handled.
Seth, Dillon, and their entire crew worked tirelessly throughout the day to complete the install before my business tenant opened at 5pm that very same day. They were the best crew I have worked with as a commercial landlord.
All I can say is thank you to all of the people at Ward for making a very stressful process so much easier. I felt liked I was valued and heard throughout the entire process.

Ian came out after another company had quoted us $4,500 to replace a coil. It turned out we had water dripping on our floor because there was a hole in the drip pan that needed to be plugged. The cost would have been $127 but we joined the maintenance program and there was no fee for today. I highly recommend Ward plumbing and heating. Remember always get a second estimate.

Jeremy was very professional and communicated well. I look forward to working with him on project completion. In April 2026, Ward charged an excessive price and promised to come back to complete the job. They did not come back and would not return my calls. I really got taken in by this company. My recommendation is to stay away from them.

I'm on city water and had a high water bill and needed to have the obvious leak taken care of. Jeb and Enoch came out and thoroughly inspected under my trailer and my property and found the leak in an unused bathroom. Thankfully they were able to turn off a couple valves to stop the leak. The guys were polite and wanted to help. Great service.

I had a plumbing issue as my garbage disposal died. I needed to have it removed and wanted to install regular plumbing without another disposal. Ward Plumbing did an excellent job for us. Our 21 year old hvac system finally died. Ward sent a technician out quickly and diagnosed its demise. We had a new system installed about a week later. All of the people we dealt with were very professional, well experienced and timely. Overall my experience was very positive. I would have no problem recommending Ward to any of my friends and family.

Bradley H came out and replaced our pressure tank and everything associated with it. We had multiple things that had failed and we're causing water pressure issues. He explained each and showed me each issue. His work was neat and he was very professional. I would definitely recommend.

Had frozen pipes and Ward was able to fit us in a day earlier the tech was very good at communicating. Happy that we now have water again. He also gave me a good picture of everything that was going on and helped us understand what to do better in the future
